asked the Minister for External Affairs what is the attitude of the Government with regard to Recommendation No. 395 on a European Civil Service, which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 24th April, 1964; and what action the Government have taken, or contemplate taking, on it.

The Ministers' Deputies at their meeting early in June decided to transmit this Recommendation to the Governmental Conference on a European Civil Service. It is understood that steps have been taken at the Conference to expedite consideration of the matter.
