asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position in regard to the installation of the system of parking meters; and when they are likely to come into effect.

There is no material change in the position since I replied on 21st May last to a previous question by the Deputy. The Commissioner of the Garda Síochána has decided to defer the making of further parking bye-laws until the one-way street system for the central city area is settled.
