asked the Minister for Justice the present position regarding a proposal for the erection of a new Garda Síochána station and housing accommodation for members of the force at Belmullet, County Mayo.

The question of a reorganisation of the Mayo Division of the Garda has been under consideration for some time and, on that account, a decision has had to be deferred as to the extent of the accommodation to be provided at Belmullet station.
