asked the Minister for Agriculture what steps he proposes to take to improve cow testing associations.

The milk recording scheme operated through cow testing associations is one of the three recording schemes for the integration of which steps are being taken as envisaged in my Department's publication "Agriculture in the Second Programme for Economic Expansion".

As I mentioned in the House recently in introducing the Estimate for Agriculture, I am confident from the progress made that an integrated scheme can be put into operation by next year.
