asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of new industries established in Ireland in 1964; and the number of new industries established in (1) Waterford city and (2) Waterford county during the same period.

Forty-three new industries or extensions to existing industries have come to my notice as having commenced production in 1964. These enterprises included three located in the Waterford city area. I am not aware of any new industry or extension which commenced production in the remainder of County Waterford during the year in question.
