asked the Minister for Finance (a) the present position of the River Suir on the priority list of major catchments selected for drainage under the arterial drainage scheme; and (b) when drainage work is likely to commence on this river.

The Suir catchment is number 15 on the priority list of 28 major catchments to be dealt with under the Arterial Drainage Act of 1945. As has already been announced drainage works are expected to commence about 1970.
