asked the Minister for Justice whether he has any proposals for (a) the erection of new Garda stations, and (b) the improvement of existing Garda stations in Westmeath; and if he is satisfied that the Gardaí have ample, comfortable accommodation in all stations in the county.

It is proposed to erect new Garda stations in County Westmeath at Ballinahown, Ballynacargy, Delvin, Glasson, Kilbeggan, Kinnegad, Moate and Multyfarnham.
Improvement schemes are planned for the existing stations at Ballymore, Castletowngeoghegan, Rathowen and Castlepollard.
Apart from the replacements and improvements which I have mentioned, I am satisfied as to the adequacy of Garda accommodation in County Westmeath.

It is proposed to erect new Garda stations in County Longford at Ballinalee, Ballymahon, Carrickboy, Drumlish, Edgeworthstown, Newtownforbes and Keenagh.
An improvements scheme is planned for the existing station at Smear and the question of improving or replacing Longford station is being considered.
Apart from the replacements and improvements which I have mentioned, I am satisfied as to the adequacy of Garda accommodation in County Longford.
