asked the Minister for Finance whether negotiations with the Government of the United States for the amendment of existing taxation agreements are in progress.

The question of revising the Convention of 1949 for the avoidance of double taxation of income was raised with the United States authorities some years ago, but little progress has since been made.

A further approach will be made to the United States whenever a suitable opportunity presents itself.
