asked the Minister for Lands what amount of service pay has been paid to forestry workers in County Wicklow; and how these payments are assessed.

It is presumed that the question concerns retirement gratuities payable under the Superannuation Acts to certain unestablished classes in State employment including forestry workers whose employment ceases owing to age, ill-health or redundancy and who satisfy certain prescribed conditions as to service etc. Such retirement gratuities totalling £1,285 have been paid to nine forestry workers at County Wicklow forests.
