asked the Minister for Transport and Power if CIE have any plans to discontinue or curtail road freight and/or passenger services in country areas in the future.

I am informed by CIE that while the operation of its road freight and road passenger services are under constant review in order to ensure that services are consistent with requirements, the Board has no general plans to discontinue or curtail these services in country areas.
