asked the Minister for social Welfare the number of persons in receipt of public assistance in each of the assistance areas under the control of Dublin Health Authority; and if he will state the minimum and maximum amount of assistance granted by the Dublin Health Authority in each such area at the latest available date.

I have ascertained from Dublin Health Authority that the numbers of persons in receipt of public assistance in the week ended 19th November, 1966, in the three areas under the control of the authority were—

The highest amount of public assistance paid in the Dublin County borough in the week ended 19th November was £16, in Dún Laoghaire borough £6 9s 0d and Dublin County £6. The lowest amount was 5/-.
