asked the Minister for Local Government if he will approve the request made recently for a grant to prevent flooding at Spa Walk and Beechers Street, Mallow, County Cork.

The proposals submitted by Cork County Council for the prevention of flooding at Mallow are under technical examination in my Department. Pending completion of this examination I am not in a position to say what, if any, financial assistance may be made available.
