Order of Business.
It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 11, 12 and 2. Questions will be taken at 2.30 p.m.
I should like to refer to the sitting days for next week. Next Thursday will be Ascension Thursday and normally we would sit on Wednesday from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Arbour Hill commemoration ceremonies will be held next Wednesday and we have arranged with the Army authorities that they should conclude about 11 a.m. in order to facilitate the attendance of Deputies. I suggest that we commence the session on Wednesday at 11.30 a.m. instead of 10.30 a.m.

On the Order of Business, I would like to draw your attention, Sir, to the fact that on yesterday I tabled questions to the Minister for Justice and the Minister for Local Government regarding certain housing matters in the city of Cork and I sought specific information from the Minister for Justice. To my mind, quite without precedent, he just refused to give the information.

I am discussing my rights in this House. To make matters worse, the only course open to me was to give you notice that I wished to raise the matter on the Adjournment. You communicated with me during the course of the evening and said you would not allow me to do so. That was an extraordinary decision, but more extraordinary still was the reason you offered. You would not allow me to raise the matter on the Adjournment because the Minister would not answer me.

The people of Cork will regard you as not carrying out your duties in the Chair and that you are now in a conspiracy. I do not think you are being fair to yourself.

I regret that I have to report that Deputy Casey is refusing to obey the directions of the Chair.
