asked the Minister for Local Government when the necessary repairs will be carried out to the quay wall at Newport, County Mayo.

I have recently sanctioned the proposal of Mayo County Council to appoint a consulting engineer for the preparation of a preliminary report and estimate for the restoration of Newport quay wall. I am not in a position to say when the work will be carried out.
