asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephones which were installed in County Galway during the past year.

The number installed in the year ended 30th September, 1967 was 670 approximately.

Would the Minister state what figure was applicable to Galway city? Is there a breakdown?

I am afraid I have not got that figure.

Could the Minister state the overall number of applications in that particular year for the county?

No, but there are 270 applications now on hands: 230 of these are being supplied with service almost immediately and 40 will be offered service in the next six months. I have not got a break down of the 670 cases.
