asked the Minister for Education if the heating and cleaning grant for national schools for the year 1966-67 has been paid; if not, what is the cause of the delay; and when it is proposed to pay the grant.

The bulk of heating and cleaning grants for national schools was paid to managers on 28th September last. A further issue of grants was made on 16th October, 1967. With the exception of a few cases where applications were received late and which are having attention, all applications received for these grants have been dealt with.
