asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether any difference of quality exists between petrol sold north and south of the Border, which would affect mileage and cost to the motorist; and if he has any power to investigate the matter.

I have no evidence to indicate that any appreciable difference in quality exists and I do not consider that an investigation is called for.
