(South Tipperary) asked the Taoiseach if he will have drawn up a series or system of economic indicators; and arrange that information will be secured at the earliest opportunity and circulated immediately item by item to each Deputy on the same lines as employment statistics are furnished.

I have arranged that the statistical material furnished to each Deputy be extended to include (a) the monthly release on external trade, (b) the monthly release on retail sales, (c) the quarterly release on the consumer price index, (d) the quarterly release on the level of production, employment and earnings in industry and (e) the regular monthly statement, "Economic Series", which shows the development in the current and preceding year of some sixty-five economic indicators.
