Statistics of the operations of local authorities in relation to unfit and dangerous dwellings are collected by my Department on a financial year basis. Returns submitted to the Department by Dublin Corporation show that in the year ended on the 31st March, 1968, closing orders were made by them, under section 66 of the Housing Act, 1966, in respect of 18 unfit dwellings and that dangerous building notices were served by them, under section 3 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1964, in relation to 359 dwellings.
