asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will ensure that no legal proceedings will be taken against farmers who expose horned cattle for sale at fairs up to 1st May, as this will give farmers sufficient time to have cattle de-horned.

The ban on horned cattle is law since the 1st February, 1969, and I am not in a position, therefore, to give an undertaking on the lines indicated by the Deputy.
