asked the Minister for Finance if his Department through the western development fund will make £7,000 available for the purchase of a turf machine for the turf producers of Cahirciveen, County Kerry.

An application for assistance from the Special Regional Development Fund to enable a local group to purchase a turf-cutting machine has been received in my Department, within the past few days, from the Kerry County Development Team and is at present under consideration.
