With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 30 together. No such proposals have been received by my Department.

Arising out of that reply, will the Minister cause inquiries to be made of his pet commissioner at the City Hall as to why the determination of the democratically elected Dublin Corporation to have these grievances relating to Lynch's Lane dealt with has not been so far given effect to? Further, will the Minister direct such inquiries to the City Hall in view of the fact that the elected representatives of the people of the city of Dublin have no recourse other than to approach the matter through Dáil Éireann?

I have no doubt that the local authority in question will now be able to devote more time to practical matters such as this.

With regard to this matter concerning Lynch's Lane, otherwise known as Dunne's Ditch, I would ask the Minister to use his good offices to ensure that this place is cleaned up because it is in a very bad way. People from outside areas have been congregating there and it would appear that these people have used the place as a base for vandalism. I am therefore asking for the protection of the people of the Ballyfermot area from these outsiders.

The Minister will do so because he has been asked by one of his own pets but the matters which I bring to the Minister's notice are ignored.

Deputy Dunne and Mr. O'Rourke were responsible for the dissolution of the corporation.

Is the Minister aware that Deputy Dowling has cast a reflection on the people of the Minister's area because it is his area that surrounds Ballyfermot?
