asked the Minister for Local Government what financial provision will be made by the Government to ensure that fulltime qualified swimming instructors will be employed at all new municipal swimming pools in the Dublin area.

It is open to sanitary authorities to provide for the giving of swimming instructions as required in swimming pools provided by them. State assistance is provided towards the capital cost of pools but is not made available in respect of expenses such as the employment of instructors.
