asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs how many applicants are on the waiting list for telephones in County Cork; and when he expects it will be possible to provide service for them.

There are about 1,300 waiting applications in County Cork of which almost 300 are in course of provision. Terms have been or will be quoted shortly to a further 300 applicants and it is expected that most of the remainder will be offered service during the next six to nine months.
