asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the continued interference with television reception in the Carrick area of County Donegal, as the result of faulty or worn ESB cables in the area; and, if so, if the ESB will remedy the faults immediately.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative.

I understand from Radio Telefís Éireann that no complaint of the kind in question has recently been received by them from the area mentioned. However, the matter is now being investigated.
