asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the fact that the majority of television licence holders in the State were unable to procure the usual television programmes during the strike, he will consider extending the current television licences, when they expire for a period equal to that of the strike.

As the licence fee is not related to the broadcasting hours, I could not accept the Deputy's suggestion.
