asked the Minister for Justice when the construction of the new Athy Garda station, County Kildare, will be commenced.

I am informed by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance that a contract has been placed for the reconstruction and renovation of a building at Athy for use as a Garda station.

It is expected that work on the contract will commence this month and that the building will be ready for occupation in about three months time.
