asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone exchange in Carrigtwohill, County Cork, will be converted from manual to automatic; and the reason for the delay.

Conversion of Carrigtwohill exchange to automatic working has been held up because of delay on the part of the contractor responsible for the supply and installation of the automatic equipment. It is now expected that Carrigtwohill exchange will be converted to automatic working in the quarter ended 30th September next.
