asked the Minister for Local Government how much money was lent under the SDA loans scheme to private persons who were buying their homes in County Dublin; and the amounts paid out in grants to all applicants over the past five years.

Total expenditure on local authority house purchase loans in the five years ended on the 31st March, 1970, was £30.48 million, of which £4.85 million was expended by Dublin County Council. In the same period, total expenditure on all State and supplementary housing grants was about £27 million.
