asked the Minister for Education the average State subsidy paid in respect of (a) a university student, (b) a vocational school student, (c) a national school student and (d) a secondary school student.

The average subsidy from public funds in 1969-70 in respect of (a) a university student was £462 11s 7d; (b) a vocational school student was £165 12s 2d; (c) a national school student was £57 14s 2d; (d) a secondary school student was £121 8s 9d.

These figures include capital payments.
