Written Answers. - Parcel Post Compensation.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if steps will be taken to have compensation paid to people who send registered parcels containing perishable goods when such goods are rendered useless through delay in delivery.

Compensation is paid for deterioration due to avoidable delay in perishable articles contained in registered parcels in the inland service. Compensation is not paid in respect of deterioration due to delay to such articles sent to or received from addresses outside the State. Alteration of these arrangements is not proposed.
