asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the grants paid by his Department towards the cleaning and heating of national schools are inadequate; and if he proposes to increase them.

The question of increasing the grants payable towards the cost of heating and cleaning schools is under consideration in my Department at present.

Can the Minister state when the grants were last increased? I think it was a few years ago?

I have not that information.
