asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement regarding the recent explosions at Carrigans, County Donegal and Clones, County Monaghan; and whether any representations were made to the British authorities in Northern Ireland in view of the claim made by the UDA that they were responsible.

With regard to the first part of the question, I understand that a related question is tabled for answer by my colleague, the Minister for Justice, today and he will deal with the matter.

So far as the second part of the question is concerned, our views about the incidents mentioned have been conveyed to the British authorities.
