asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will include widows in the free electricity allowance scheme on the same basis as old age pensioners.

Widow pensioners aged 70 and over, who fulfil the conditions of the scheme, are already eligible for the free electricity allowance. An extension of the scheme to include widows under 70 years of age is not at present contemplated.
