There are no plans for the decentralisation of the headquarters of any semi-State body under the aegis of my Department. In any event, the headquarters' staffs of the bodies in question are relatively small in number.

George Colley Minister for Finance (Mr. Colley) Fianna Fáil

There are no plans for decentralisation of the headquarters of the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department. I should point out, however, that the majority of the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department are financial institutions and, therefore, it is desirable that they should be adjacent to the principal centre of commercial activity. In relation to these bodies I believe that decentralisation can best be achieved through the establishment of local branch offices where the level of business transacted would warrant it.
