asked the Minister for Finance if he has begun the investigation into the proposed takeover of a company (details supplied); if he will take such steps as may be open to him to prevent this takeover; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There has been no proposal for a takeover of the company which the Deputy has in mind. The company have recently disposed of one of their operations and I understand that the representatives of the workers involved are satisfied with the undertakings given to them by the purchasing company.
