asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the number of salmon caught last year by drift net from Malin Head to Culmore Point; and the number caught by the Foyle Commission itself with draft and stake nets.

I am informed by the Foyle Fisheries Commission that during 1973, 25,812 salmon were taken by drift nets between Malin Head and Culmore Point in the Foyle area. In the same year 7,735 salmon were taken in the draft and stake nets operated by the Commission itself.
