asked the Minister for Health if he will make provision for a capital grant towards an EMI scanner for the National Neurosurgical Centre at St. Laurence's Hospital, Dublin.

The capital funds available to me for 1975 have been allocated and it is not possible to allocate a grant this year for the purchase of an EMI scanner, which costs approximately £190,000, with attachments. The application will, however, be considered further when the hospital capital programme for 1976 is being drawn up.
