asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider updating the Alkali Act, 1906, with particular regard to cement factories.

While there are no proposals at present for updating of the Alkali, etc., Works Regulations Act, 1906, the need for improvement of air pollution controls generally, including those in relation to cement works, is being kept under review.
