asked the Minister for Transport and Power when legislation will be introduced to ratify the Oslo Convention which prohibits the dumping of noxious materials and which was signed on behalf of this country in June, 1972.

The preparation of the legislative proposals is at an advanced stage. I intend to introduce the legislation as soon as possible and to have it enacted before the end of the year.
