Unpaid children’s allowance in Galway

Summary

After the family returned from abroad, allowance arrears and the book were mistakenly sent to their former address; both have been reissued to their current address.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why children's allowances have not been paid to a person (name supplied) in County Galway since August, 1975.

The person in question and his family were temporarily absent from the State from August, 1975, to December, 1975. Following their return a claim for restoration of children's allowance was admitted with effect from September, 1975. The allowance book and payable order in respect of arrears were inadvertently issued to the claimant's former address in Salthill, Galway. These have now been reissued to the claimant at his new address in Salthill.
