Laois housing scheme tenders
The Minister said his sanction was unnecessary for tenders on schemes of 60 houses or fewer, provided costs stay within agreed limits and the county’s annual allocation.
asked the Minister for Local Government if he is yet in a position to sanction tenders for housing schemes in Ballylinan, Killishin, Luggacurren, Mountrath and Stradbally, County Laois; and, if not, why.

My sanction is not required for the acceptance of tenders for these schemes. Under their devolved responsibilities housing authorities are empowered to undertake the planning and construction of schemes of 60 houses or less, subject only to an agreed cost ceiling per dwelling and to overall expenditure being kept within a capital allocation for the year to the local authority.
