The Minister provided annual draft-net licence totals for the Kerry and Cork Fishery Districts from 1972 through 1976; Kerry’s figures were higher overall, while Cork’s declined.

The number of draft-net licences issued by the board of conservators in each of the years 1972-1976 in the Kerry Fishery District was 68, 83, 82, 80 and 81 respectively and in the Cork Fishery District was 62, 54, 47, 43 and 42 respectively.
