Tenant purchase scheme
The Minister said the national sales scheme details would reach local authorities within days, allowing Cork Corporation to prepare its scheme. Applications will remain open until June next year, and the scheme will continue for several years; remaining questions were deferred.

I wish to draw attention to my Department's Press release of 29th October on the introduction of a new national sales scheme for local authority houses. A circular letter on the scheme will be issued to local authorities within the next few days.

Can we expect that Cork Corporation will be able to embark on a tenant house purchase scheme in the next month?

They will have it within the next few days. I would imagine that, as a result of the Press release, they are preparing that scheme now.

The closing date will be in June next year. The scheme will not die for quite a number of years.
