Oil companies and naphtha sales

Summary

O’Malley asked for a sworn inquiry into oil companies’ production and sale of naphtha, which he said was causing serious problems for Irish gas undertakings. Bruton invited him to raise the specific issue in another question.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary, to deal with a specific example, cause a sworn inquiry to be held into the attitude of the multi-national oil companies to the production and sale of naphtha which is causing an enormous problem for gas undertakings in Ireland?

Comment on this

The Deputy's question is a general one and he is now referring to a specific problem. I should be very happy to indicate my position on the question of naphtha in response to another question.
