asked the Minister for Education if he has received any report from the governing body of the Thomond College of Education on their discussions with NUI authorities concerning the recognition of the college for the validation of courses and the award of degrees.

The governing body of the Thomond College of Education have reported that they have applied to the National University of Ireland for the status of recognised college. I understand that the matter is being considered by the appropriate university bodies.
