asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that an applicant for a telephone (name supplied) in County Mayo is waiting since 1972 for it to be connected; and the reason for the delay.

The applicant in question applied for service in May, 1974. His application has been deferred because of the extensive linework required and the number of similar waiting applications made prior to May, 1974. It is hoped to provide service during the second half of 1977.
