asked the Minister for Finance the borrowing by State and semi-State bodies that are due for repayment during each of the years 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981; and the sources (a) foreign and (b) national to which they will be repaid.

Since the reply consists of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

Estimated repayments of borrowings by State and semi-State bodies in the years 1977 to 1981.

NOTE: The above figures do not include—

(a) overdraft facilities amounting to £30.57m; the extent to which these facilities are availed of fluctuates throughout the year.

(b) deposits totalling £135m. which are repayable at any time subject to the requisite notice of withdrawal.
