Visits for hunger-striking prisoners

Summary

Allen questioned whether hunger-striking prisoners had been denied family visits, including visits from their wives. The Minister denied this and said families had been invited to visit in the preceding days.

Is it true that those prisoners on hunger strike have been denied visits both prior to and since transfer to hospital?

I understand that even wives have been refused visits.

Comment on this

That is not so. The prisoners' families have been invited to visit the men during the last day or so.

Comment on this

But only during the past day or so.
