‹ Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas Garda Strength. Garda recruit intake
Summary
Asked whether recruitment would exceed the planned 500 recruits, the Minister expected it would, noting the panel would also cover normal wastage. A further question suggested twice as many Gardaí were needed.
Would the Minister have information as to whether there will be more than 500 recruits taken on from the recent examination?
Comment on this
The figure of 500 is to meet the increase in the establishment but the present panel of recruits will also be availed of to fill the normal wastage which is usually about 180 or 200 per year.
